What do you mean that is only halfway?

OMG! I mean I knew going in that it was going to be a long way but really now, I have to run twice as far as I did today?
I got off the bus before 9am out in Sidney and was actually pretty excited about this, as I had had an hour to psyche myself up about it. My goal today was to run slower for longer. I wore too many clothes and had to stop at 5k to peel off my top layer. I cruised along, very conscious of stride and pacing. I didn't care if I ran 5:10's or 5:50's but I needed to run slower than last week. Everything was going along well, I ate my powerbar, 2 gels and half a banana (I know, I am not fond of them either but they go down real easy and give me alot of what I need.) At around 20km my right hip, not the usual left one, started to hurt. I attribute this to lazy running, not keeping good form. At 23km, my right foot started to go numb. This has happened before but not this badly. It felt almost like my sock had bunched up under the ball of my foot behind my big toe. It felt hot and something like a blister. It went away about 10 minutes later and further review has the beginning of a blister starting, so I will have to vaseline my feet next time as a precaution. At the end of the run I was pretty spent but feeling very good about making the whole distance. 2:17:46 ~ 26.1 km, 5:16 per km.

Half marathon split: 1:51:11
25km split: 2:12:14
