12 km was 1.5 km ago

Either I didn't pay enough attention to the map or it lied. I had good intentions of running 12k today. I laced up and headed out at a nice comfortable pace. Easy day to run, no wind, 10C and sunny. Wow, I love it here. I was feeing good, cruising up the hills as they came and working the downhills hard. I took a GU gel along with me, espresso flavored, which I took as a tester. Every run now over 12k will have to have some form of energy supplement be it Gatorade, water, gels or real food. I have to learn to eat and run, literally. I took it at 45 minutes in and it tastes good and was easy to manage. At 11.5km, the Hill showed up again. It is only 300 meters but it is equivalent to about 30 flights of stairs. And it sucks. The only way to beat it is focus. And I always win. But the time I finished my run, I was tired but feeling great. 1:11:13 ~ 13.6km, 5:13 per km.
